LA LEGGE E I PROFETI (MT 5,17-20)

Preghiera:

Vieni, Spirito Santo. Rendimi grande nel Regno di Gesù.

Immaginazione:

Contesto:

“Law and prophets” means the whole Old Testament. Jesus wants his Church to retain these books and teach them to his disciples. At the same time, these books are not God’s final word or his greatest gift because Jesus “fulfills” these laws and prophetic words.

Testo del Vangelo: (Leggere lentamente, possibilmente ad alta voce)

Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: "Non pensate che io sia venuto a distruggere la legge o i profeti. Non sono venuto per distruggere, ma per dare compimento. In verità vi dico: finché non siano passati il cielo e la terra, non passerà la più piccola lettera, neppure la più piccola parte della lettera, finché non sia tutto compiuto".

Chiunque violerà uno di questi minimi comandamenti e insegnerà ad altri a farlo, sarà chiamato minimo nel Regno dei cieli. Chi li osserverà e insegnerà ad altri a farlo, sarà chiamato grande nel Regno dei cieli.

Vi dico che se la vostra bontà non supererà quella degli scribi e dei farisei, non entrerete nel Regno dei cieli.

  1. Jesus makes us God’s children.
  2. The disciple must keep God’s word in the law and the prophets.
  3. They must, also, teach others to live by God’s word.
  4. Allora saranno grandi nel Regno. Saranno sia esecutori che insegnanti.
  5. As disciples, they must go beyond the limited goodness of the scribes and Pharisees.
  6. Their tasks are heavy but their reward is great. They will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Affetti. (Quando uno tocca il vostro cuore, usate le vostre parole).

  • O Jesus, you have made me a child of the Father.
  • Train me in your word, O Lord. Plant your truth in my heart.
  • Let your word be a lamp for my feet and a guide for my path.
  • Dammi lo zelo di istruire gli altri nella tua Parola.
  • May your power make me a doer of your word.
  • Tu mi chiami a essere grande nel Regno. Ho a cuore il tuo invito.

Propositi: (eventualmente, potreste voler fare i vostri).

+ Esaminerò dove non osservo la legge di Dio.
+ Leggerò l'Antico Testamento per vedere le parole di Dio a Israele.

Chi osserva questi comandamenti e insegna agli altri sarà grande nel Regno.
