Prayer Cenacle Outline
Neither Our Blessed Mother nor Our Lord provided instructions on how to conduct a prayer cenacle in the Diary. Our Blessed Mother did give instructions for the Family Holy Hours and they are very simple:
May the hour you devote to reparation begin with spiritual reading, a devotion filled with spiritual recollection, the Rosary or some other form of prayer.
Make reparation by twos or threes. Where two or three of you gather, there is my Holy Son.”
“At His request, start with five Signs of the Cross, during which you offer yourselves to the Eternal Father through my Son’s Holy Wounds. End the prayer service of reparation the same way. (The Spiritual Diary – April 13, 1962)
We provide the simple outline below as a guideline. Feel free to adapt it to circumstances and culture. Many countries have published their own, more extensive prayer booklets. You may wish to check the Contact Page for your country to see if one is available.
Flame of Love Prayer Cenacle Outline
1) Meditation on Jesus’ Five Wounds
This should be a meditation. There is no prayer for this in the Diary. For example:
We offer ourselves to the Heavenly Father through all the wounds of our Savior, Jesus Christ:
We kiss the wound of your Sacred Left Hand, with sorrow deep and true. †
We kiss the wound of your Sacred Right Hand, with sorrow deep and true. †
We kiss the wound of your Sacred Left Foot, with sorrow deep and true. †
We kiss the wound of your Sacred Right Foot, with sorrow deep and true. †
We kiss the wound of your Sacred Side, with sorrow deep and true. †
2) Spiritual Reading
A Diary passage or a Formation topic or a passage of Scripture with optional discussion
3) Prayer Intentions
4) Pray the Flame of Love Rosary using the Flame of Love Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee, blessed are Thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, spread the effect of grace of Thy Flame of Love over all of humanity, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
5) After each decade
My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee! I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love Thee.
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who are in most need of Thy Mercy.
Unity Prayer:
My adored Jesus,
May our feet journey together.
May our hands gather in unity.
May our hearts beat in unison.
May our souls be in harmony.
May our thoughts be as one.
May our ears listen to the silence together.
May our glances profoundly penetrate each other.
May our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father. Amen
Come Holy Spirit! Come by means of the power of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
[Sing ‘Ave Maria’]
6) Hail Holy Queen / O God
7) Adoration
My Adored Jesus, we ask you to take us in spirit before your Eucharistic Presence throughout the world. (pause for silent reflection)
8) Blessed Lady
Take us and place us where we belong in the Divine Fire. Help us dwell on your love for us. (pause for silent reflection)
9) Prayer to Saint Joseph
To you, O blessed Joseph, do we come in our afflictions, and having implored the help of your most holy Spouse, we confidently invoke your patronage also.
Through that charity which bound you to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God and through the paternal love with which you embraced the Child Jesus, we humbly beg you graciously to regard the inheritance which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood, and with your power and strength to aid us in our necessities.
O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ; O most loving father, ward off from us every contagion of error and corrupting
influence; O our most mighty protector, be kind to us and from heaven assist us in our struggle with the power of darkness.
As once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly peril, so now protect God’s Holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity; shield, too, each one of us
by your constant protection, so that, supported by your example and your aid, we may be able to live piously, to die in holiness, and to obtain eternal happiness in heaven. Amen.
10) Longer Saint Michael Prayer* or
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the Power of God, cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
11) Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be
12) Meditation on Jesus’ Five Wounds
* The longer form of the Saint Michael Prayer
O glorious Archangel Saint Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, defend us in battle, and in the struggle which is ours against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against spirits of evil in high places.
Come to the aid of men, whom God created immortal, made in his own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil.
Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there a place for them any longer in Heaven. But that cruel, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan, who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with all his angels.
Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of man has taken courage, transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the crown of eternal glory.
This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity.
These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the Immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where has been set up the See of the most blessed Peter and the Chair of Truth for the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.
Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and bring them the victory.
The Church venerates thee as protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious powers of this world and of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude.
Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church.
Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly conciliate the mercies of the Lord; and beating down the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations. Amen.
